Free Community Events
At Explore Learning we are dedicated to promoting the joys of maths and literacy. During the summer holidays we are holding a community open day, whereby families who have not had a chance to meet Explore Learning out in the community, can come and take part in workshops inside our centre.
The next community open day is on Thursday 29th July. The day will feature a series of free workshops open to anyone. Please call or drop into the centre for further details and to reserve your space. Workshops available are:

Additional courses
11+ tuition
Are you off to grammar school next year? Our 11+ course is excellent preparation for your entrance exam. We guide you through verbal reasoning in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Due to popular demand we now have three 11+ classes running on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Drop into the centre and talk to Emily to find how we can really prepare you for your exam!
Explore Writing
Our popular creative writing course, for 8 – 14 year olds, is designed to excite children who may be more reluctant with literacy, challenge those children who already enjoy it and inspire those who struggle to get their ideas down on paper. During the course, children explore different styles of writing as well as developing their confidence and enthusiasm and producing work they are proud of!
To find out more about our creative writing course, please come along and speak to James.
Succeed in Secondary
Our Succeed in Secondary course is designed for children in year 6 or above, to prepare children for secondary school. We look at issues in the news today and create exciting projects based around them. The course provides an opportunity for our older members to express opinions, build study skills, research, debate and present their ideas.
To find out more about our Succeed in Secondary, please come along and speak to Steph.
Schools
In Bournemouth we work very closely with a number of schools, and community groups holding fun literacy and numeracy workshops. Recently, we presented Queens Park Junior School, with £100 worth of books, due to their fantastic contributions during National Children’s Book Week.
If you would like us to get involved in activities in your school, please don’t hesitate to contact the centre as we will be happy to provide you with a booking form for the literacy and numeracy workshops over the next couple of terms or to discuss other possibilities with you.
QUOTES FROM TEACHERS
"The tutors had an excellent relationship with children of all abilities. They approached the task in a fun but 'real life' way...the task really reinforced the learning in school."Mr Judge, St. Walburg's RC Primary School.
