Entrance Exam Preparation, Tuesday 7pm - 8pm
In Cabot Circus, we concentrate on preparing candidates for the Bristol selective schools' entrance papers, while supporting each child as they realise their potential in this often unfamiliar area of study. Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutors ensure children are given great insight into how to best prepare for the exams, with a range of techniques explored each week and complemented by realistic exam practice. We are currently offering taster sessions to families interested in joining this course. The taught component of the course runs on a Tuesday evening from 7pm -8pm. Succeed in Secondary, Wednesday 7pm - 8pm
This is a really popular course at Cabot Circus, running on Wednesday evenings exclusively for our older members. Children in Year 6 or above can come to engage in topical debates, practice researching through a variety of challenging sources, and develop a broad range of presentation skills – all essential as they make the transition between primary and secondary school. This course runs on Wednesdays from 7-8pm - places are filling up fast so book a trial session or call for more information on 0117 934 9499.

Explore Writing, Thursday 7pm - 8pm
Explore Writing is the exciting creative writing course open to all members aged 8-14 years old. Exploring a range of writing styles and posing stimulating challenges to stretch every child’s imagination, this course makes creative writing accessible to even the most reluctant authors! Working alongside our tutors, our members craft work they can be really proud of. This course runs every Thursday evening at 7-8pm, with free taster sessions available to new families and current members.

Cabot Circus Explore and Schools
To ensure our learning centre complements the great work our members are doing in the classroom, we pride ourselves on the strong links we've already established with our local schools. Last academic year, Cabot Circus Explore worked alongside 35 local schools, hosting free literacy workshops, maths rallies, story-telling workshops and interactive games at PTA fairs. Among many others, we visited Luckwell Primary, Whitehall Primary, St. Werburgh's, Air Balloon Hill Junior, St. Anne's Park, Holymead Junior School, Millpond Primary, Connaught Primary, South Street Primary, Cabot Primary and St. Anne's Infants.
Already this academic year, our team has worked with even more teachers as we launched our National Book Week Competition in September and October. Christmas time is filled with visits to schools for PTA Fetes and Christmas assemblies and the new year brings the return of our popular National Young Writers' Competition. We're also excited to announce that we have teamed up with Star Radio to reward the great schools in our city. Free Holiday Workshops for members!
Over the school holidays, Explore Learning offered a range of free workshops in numeracy and literacy. As this proved so popular, we're making these free workshops a feature of every school holiday! All our families contribute to the content of our workshops to help keep every member's brain active over the school break. We publish the schedule of free workshops in our centre, so pay us a visit and see what we're offering over the coming months.
Open Sessions
The next Open Session for parents is on 9th February. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to show you the work they do at Explore Learning and for parents to meet the inspiring tutors they work with. Please see a manager to reserve your space. Our neighbours at Starbucks help keep our parents on their toes with free helpings of delicious coffee and cakes.

Shopping Centre Activities
Every weekend, the Cabot Circus tutors visit The Mall, Broadmead or Cabot Circus Shopping Centre offering challenges to the children shopping. Why not come and test your brain? We also hold literacy treasure hunts with Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Knowle, and have an exciting schedule of free creative writing workshops across Bristol libraries. Late Night Sessions
We are delighted to announce the launch of our late night learning sessions, running from 6.30-8.00pm on Monday evenings. These sessions, exclusively for our members in secondary school, allow them to experience an older, more mature atmosphere in our learning centre. Enjoying the company of children their age, the opportunity to listen to music as they work, and a chance to capitalise on all our excellent resources to help with their homework has already proved popular with lots of our members. Book a free trial session to visit the centre on Monday evenings to try out this exclusive club.
