Explore Writing, Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm
This is a unique course for children aged 8+, offering an opportunity to practice key writing skills in line with the National Curriculum. With the help of our tutors, children are encouraged to create structured stories, use descriptive language and write in different genres. The course can be used to help children who may be struggling to put pen to paper but also gives those budding writers an environment to thrive!
11+ Entrance Exam Preparation, Wednesday 6-7pm
Our course has just begun for the 2010/2009 entrance exams. If your child is in Year 5 and you are considering them taking 11+ or entrance exams in Year 6 then please call today to book your free trial as places are limited. The course is tailored to look at elements involved in the local school exams; subjects ranging from English, maths, non-verbal and verbal reasoning, as well as practicing exam techniques.
Succeed In Secondary, Monday 6-7pm
Our Succeed in Secondary programme is a unique course run by Explore Learning, designed to help pupils with the transition into Secondary School. The course encourages children to develop opinions about current news topics, and builds skills in research, debating, and group work.
Clifton Explore and Schools
We have thoroughly enjoyed visiting many schools in the local area to hold maths and literacy workshops. So far we have visited over 25 schools in the local area and have had a number of schools visit us in the centre too. Recent visits have included workshops at Flaxbourton, Wraxhall, Westbury-On-Trym, Northleaze, Bankleaze, Portishead and Sea Mills.
Explore Learning National Young Writer's Award - This prestigious award is now in its second year and gives school children the opportunity to enter a short story with the chance to win a series of regional prizes or even be crowned Explore Learning National Young Writer of the Year! 2010 entries have now closed and we look forward to announcing the regional winners shortly!

It is always nice for children to have fresh input from people that are unfamiliar to them, presenting things in a slightly different way. Free Workshops
We are keen to offer opportunities for children to keep things ticking over and continue enjoying education in the holiday periods too. Watch out for us at local libraries, Brownies, Cubs and the Clifton Down Shopping Centre where we'll be holding fun activities for children of all ages.
Open Sessions
Every term we hold open sessions where you get the chance to chat to managers about the wide range of courses available at Explore and how they can benefit your child. Your child also has the opportunity to tutor you through their courses and are invited to bring friends along to take part in the activities on offer.
