Explore Writing, Tuesday 7.00-8.00 pm
Our popular Creative writing course is designed to excite children who may be more reluctant with literacy, challenge those children who already enjoy it, and inspire those who struggle to get their ideas down on paper. During the course children explore different styles of writing as well as developing their confidence and enthusiasm and producing work they are proud of. To book a trial session, please contact a manager at the centre.
11+ Entrance Exam Preparation Course Wednesday 7.00-8.00 pm
At Hayes our 11+ course is designed to prepare children for the entrance exams of local schools, including the Langley Consortium and Slough grammar schools in Buckinghamshire. Year 5 pupils on the course cover verbal reasoning and maths skills. The course works to develop children's confidence and independent learning skills. Classes are held throughout the week and taught by a manager. For more details on the times of the classes or information on the course, please contact the centre.
Succeed in Secondary, Thursday 7.00- 8.00pm
This course is designed to help children prepare for life at secondary school and build confidence during the transition from primary school. Open to pupils in year 6,7,8 and 9 it provides an opportunity for our older members to express opinions, build study skills, research, debate and present their ideas. Explore Learning and Local Schools
In Hayes we work very closely with a number of schools, libraries and community groups holding fun literacy and numeracy workshops. We recently enjoyed presenting a series of fun and educational workshops at Yeading Infant school in celebration of their Maths week.
We have also held workshops for fantastic classes at Heathrow Park, Hayes Park, Guru Nanak, Durdans Park, Botwell and many other schools.

Workshops and Open Sessions
Within our centre we also hold lots of different workshops to interest and enthuse our members. Over the summer holidays we had a fantastic programme of workshops including George's Marvelous Medicine, Wild Weather creative writing, Telling the Time and Succeed in Secondary. These were all fully attended and prompted brilliant pieces of work. Keep a look out for our events during the Easter term and Summer 2010. Places are limited so remember to sign up as soon as possible.
We also offer the opportunity for parents to visit the centre during one of our fun and informative open sessions. Let your child become the tutor and see the work they are covering when they are in our centre!
Centre News
Last summer we had lots of exciting things happening in our centre!
Our special Holiday Lizard card went on many journeys and action packed adventures. Our members brought back photographs of him in Tunisia and Greece, as well as in a Theme Park and on a coach! The member with the funniest photograph will receive a prize at the end of the summer holidays.
As usual Surf Club is packed with fun and exciting activities and we are currently having a 'Healthy Eating' month! Everyone has been getting involved in creating healthy food plate drawings, posters, stories and jokes. Every month we have a new theme that is designed to inspire our members as well as creative competitions for them to get stuck into!
This summer the holiday opening times will be beginning from Monday 26th July and return to the term time opening times on Friday 3rd September.
