Parent Partnerships
- how we work with you

In partnership we communicate with you at every opportunity and ask your support in helping us to create a positive environment for your child.
Progress charts

At the end of each session you will receive a chart summarising your child’s lesson. These charts are designed to give you some examples of the activities, including scores and comments from the Tutor. They are not designed to provide a detailed record of the session. Essentially they can give you ammunition to let your child know that you are impressed with their efforts.

Please note that the scores may be different from what you would expect at school. Children are regularly being introduced to new material so we expect scores to average around 70%. A low percentage may reflect the introduction of new skill areas and a high percentage can occur just before your child progresses to a more challenging area. Please react positively towards your child’s effort even when his or her scores are a little lower.

Parent Conferences

At set times of the year you will have an opportunity to meet one of the centre managers to discuss your child’s progress and review their goals. We encourage you to let us know how your child is getting on at school and what his or her attitude is towards Explore. This is a valuable session used to plan the next stage of your child’s time at Explore and help us meet your child’s needs.

During these meetings you will be supplied with a detailed report covering the numeracy and literacy subjects (link to sample report). Tutors use these reports to assist them in developing your child’s programme.
