Bill Mills – Founder and CEO
Bill Mills started his career with the American consulting firm Bain and Company and subsequently worked in natural resources corporate finance with Warrior International, a small boutique of which Peter Freeman (see above) was co-founder, in London and Chicago.  However, Bill has had a lifelong interest in education.  He was born and brought up at Highfield School, where his father was Headmaster, and of which he is now owner and Chairman.  Before joining Warrior, Bill took 9 months out in order to found Brookham – Highfield’s pre-prep, now a school of 140 pupils (alongside Highfield’s 230).

Robert Hicks – Operations Director
Robert Hicks is responsible for the performance and operations of all Explore Learning centres.  In this role, the Regional Managers and the Recruitment, Training and Sales Managers all report to him.  Robert joined Explore in 2002 and began by working at the ‘coal face’ as a Tutor in our Beaconsfield centre.  Prior to joining Explore, Robert worked at Cameron Mckenna, Ernst & Young and DCS Group plc, where, as well as qualifying as both a solicitor and accountant, he helped to develop the recruitment, training and performance programmes.

Helen Garland –Finance Director
Helen Garland qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton in 1989. After qualification she went on to work within the audit and corporate finance department of Price Waterhouse, before taking a career break in America to bring up her two children. On her return to England, in 2002, she joined an international recruitment company as their Finance Director before joining Explore, as their Finance Director, in July 2006.
