Entrance Exam Preparation Course, Monday or Thursday 7-8pm
At North Cheam our 11+ course is tailored to prepare children for the entrance exams of local schools, including Nonsuch, Wallington Grammar and Sutton Grammar. The course allows all children children to develop extra skills and confidence in new areas. Year 5 pupils on the course cover verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and maths skills. Succeed in Secondary, Wednesday 7-8pm
This course is designed to help children prepare for life at secondary school and build confidence during the transition from primary school and during secondary. Open to pupils in year 6,7,8 and 9 it provides an opportunity for our older members to express opinions, build study skills, research, debate and present their ideas. Explore Writing, Tuesday 7pm and 8pm
Our popular creative writing course is designed to excite children who may be more reluctant with literacy, challenge those children who already enjoy it and inspire those who struggle to get their ideas down on paper. During the course, children explore different styles of writing as well as developing their confidence and enthusiasm and producing work they are proud of! Explore Learning and Local Schools
In North Cheam we work very closely with a number of schools, libraries and community groups holding fun literacy and numeracy workshops. Recently we presented an award at Cuddington Community School to the Regional Winner in our National Young Writer’s competition. We have held workshops with countless local schools, including Dorchester Primary, St. Cecilia's Catholic Primary School, Bandon Hill and Cheam Fields.

Workshops and Open Sessions
Within our centre we hold lots of different workshops to interest and enthuse our members. Over the summer holiday we have had a fantastic programme of workshops including George's Marvelous Medicine, Fun with Phonics, Telling the Time and Succeed in Secondary. These were all fully attended and prompted brilliant pieces of work. Keep a look out for our events during the Autumn term and over half term. Places are limited so remember to sign up as soon as possible.
We also offer the opportunity for parents to visit the centre during one of our open sessions. Let your child become the tutor and see the work they are covering when they are in our centre!
We hold regular 'Bring a Friend for Free' days, in which our current members are allowed to bring their siblings and friends to have a go at some of our work. Please ask in the centre when our next 'Bring a Friend' days are running during the Autumn Term.

Over the summer we have had lots of exciting things happening in our centre!
Our special Holiday Lizard card went on many journeys and action packed adventures. Our members brought back photographs of him from as far away as America and sunny Spain.
As usual Surf Club is packed with fun and exciting activities and this month's theme is the Romans! Everyone in Surf Club is involved in creating Roman drawings, posters, poems and jokes! Every month we have a new theme that is designed to inspire our members as well as our quiz that the whole family can get involved with.
