11+ Preparation Course - Wednesday 7pm - 8pm
At Sydenham our 11+ Course is tailored to the entrance exams for schools in South East London. Whilst teaching small groups in a stimulating setting we equip children with the knowledge and experience to achieve their potential. This 9-month course runs from the January of year 5 until the children sit their exams in year 6.
Succeed in Secondary - Thursdays 7pm - 8pm
Our highly popular Succeed in Secondary course is for children in year 6, 7, 8 and 9. The aim of the course is to support children through the sometimes tricky transition between Key Stage 2 and 3. We look at current affairs topics whilst focusing on developing debating, presentation and research skills.
Explore Writing - Tuesday 7pm - 8pm
Explore Writing is our exciting creative writing course open to all members aged 8-14 years old. Exploring a range of writing styles and posing stimulating challenges to stretch every child’s imagination, this course makes creative writing accessible to even the most reluctant Writers! Working alongside our tutors, our members develop their skills in an environment that gets them really excited about their work.
Sydenham Explore and Schools
Our interactive workshops are a great way of supporting the work our members are doing in the classroom. we currently work with some great local schools including Adamsrill, Highfield, Athelney, Eltham College, Downderry, Rathfern, St Dunstans, Worsley Bridge,Royston, Kilmorie, Holy Trinity, Perrymount and Malcolm Primary. Free Workshops
We regularly hold free literacy workshops at Sydenham Library and in our centre so keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming dates and sign your children up. Our writing workshops are open to members and non-members alike to get their creative juices flowing over the holidays!
Open Sessions
Open Sessions allow parents to try out course materials at their child's current levels whilst a tutor explains our teaching techniques. Bring your child along so that they can show you around the centre and be your tutor for the evening.
