Joanna Lysons
Assistant Director
“I have always had a keen interest in working in education, and I believe that Explore Learning provides the ideal environment to encourage children to be enthusiastic about learning. Being able to work individually with children in a fun atmosphere means that I can not only help them improve academically, but also help them improve their overall confidence and social skills.”
Jo graduated from The University of York with a 2:1 degree in English Literature and Philosophy. During her study at York Jo was involved in a number of educational workshops for local school children. Prior to joining Explore Learning, Jo worked as a Learning Support Assistant at a secondary school where she worked with 11-16 year olds of varying abilities. This enabled her to develop the ability to tailor her approach to each individual student’s needs.

Jenna Martin
Assistant Director
Jenna graduated in July 2011 from Royal Holloway University of London with a First Class Honours degree in Psychology. Her passion to work with children was ignited when she worked as a Young Leader for her local Rainbow Guide Unit, and was furthered when Jenna worked voluntarily as a Maths and French tutor to help support borderline GCSE students.
“I have always been passionate about helping children fulfil their potential, and I feel that working at Explore Learning is the perfect opportunity to do this. I love working alongside the children and getting to know them so that I can ensure they are working at their best and enjoying themselves. I feel that the diversity of resources available, in addition to the vibrant ambience, allows children to thrive in a fun and engaging atmosphere.”
