The management team:

Gemma Marshall

“Through perseverance, encouragement and making learning relative to the individual child we are able to allow childen to participate in effective and interactive learning. The importance of learning and my passion for assisting others is what inspires me on a daily basis.”

Gemma graduated from the University of the West of England with a first class degree in English Language and Linguistics. Throughout her studies she gained extensive experience in a school environment; working with children of all ages. During her time in schools she worked as a Literacy specialist for secondary school students, a mentor for children with special educational needs and a classroom assistant. This has proven to be an enriching experience and reinforced her passion for working with children.

Yvonne Bamford

Assistant Director - Bristol Cabot Circus

“I consider working with children to be a privilege as I am continually challenged and inspired by their creative ideas and their ability to adapt and to learn when encouraged and engaged.  I believe Explore Learning provides a learning environment which children both enjoy and excel in and I love being able to individualise learning programmes to a child’s needs in order to help them achieve their full potential.”

Yvonne Bamford graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a First class degree in Marketing, having also achieved a Pass degree in French language.  During secondary school she helped to tutor a French class for 12-13 year olds.  Then, for many summers, Yvonne was part of teams leading holiday clubs for children, at which she motivated the children, led lessons and encouraged group discussion about the lessons.  She has also been a member of a team leading a weekly church youth club and a weekly children’s bible study.  These all gave her a passion for bringing out the best in children by getting to know them, getting them enthusiastic about learning and helping them to grow in confidence as they progress in their learning.

Emma Wilkinson

“I am passionate about working with children, encouraging an enthusiasm for learning which helps them to achieve their potential. At Explore Learning, seeing children enjoy learning and grow in confidence by providing an environment to build on the skills they have learnt at school is a very rewarding part of my job. "

Emma Wilkinson graduated from the University of Surrey with a 2.1 (Hons) degree in Psychology. During her time at University she volunteered in a school in Guildford, supporting children between the ages of 6 and 9. She also went to Camp America for 4 months, teaching children between the ages of 5 and 17 to horse ride. These experiences reinforced her passion to help children fulfill their potential and to grow in confidence.
