Explore Reading (ages 5-14)
The Explore Reading course combines a range of digital books, phonic exercises and reading guides to engage children and develop their reading skills.
Clicker™ Phonics allows children to practise the skills of identifying, blending and segmenting sounds to learn to read. They then put these skills into practice with a wonderful digitised version of the Oxford Reading Tree™, where they read and complete basic comprehension activities about Biff, Chip and Kipper. They can even make and print their own Oxford Reading Tree books which use animation to encourage even our youngest members to become future authors!
SuccessMaker™ is used by Explore Learning to chart progress in comprehension and vocabulary and ensures our members are progressing through the curriculum. The reading assessment in SuccessMaker™ allows Explore Learning staff not only to identify areas of difficulty or strength but also to tailor a course so that each child is being supported and stretched as required in their reading.
Explore Learning also uses interactive reading resources such as Clicker™ Trackers for younger readers and Longman Digitexts™ for more experienced readers. Animation, audio and video clips are embedded in the texts to make reading and comprehension a truly dynamic experience.
