Charlotte Gater

Centre Director

“The most rewarding aspect of working for Explore Learning is seeing the children develop. Whether children need help with their academic studies, or need to work on their confidence and social skills, coming to the centre really does transform them. All the children who come to the centre are of diverse ages and abilities and they all like to learn in different ways. I love the challenge of finding a way to inspire each individual child and knowing that my job is actively helping children to achieve their goals is extremely gratifying.”

Charlotte graduated from the University of Durham with a 2.1 in Politics. Before joining Explore Learning she went travelling in Australia , New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Annabelle Townley

Assistant Director

“I have always had a passion for helping young people realise their potential and Explore Learning does exactly that. Children are able to come into a relaxed, friendly centre and learn at a pace which suits them, whilst also gaining the independence and confidence which will benefit them not only now, but as they grow older and encounter new experiences in the future.”

Annabelle joined Explore Learning in June 2010 after graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a 2.1 degree in English Studies. During her holidays she volunteered at a children’s summer camp in Florida and worked at an English Language school in Cambridge. For many years now Annabelle has actively worked with young people of various ages in the community, from teaching dance to volunteering at local secondary schools in and around Cambridge.

Claudia Roberts

“I find working at Explore Learning really enjoyable because I get to know each child as an individual. It is so rewarding to help them make progress both in their academic ability and in their confidence and enthusiasm for learning. I feel very lucky to be able to work with such fantastic children and to be in a position where I can help them fulfil their potential.”

Claudia graduated from Cardiff University with a 2:1 in Law and Sociology. She has worked with children for a number of years including running an after school club for children from her local women’s refuge. Whilst at university she volunteered for the charity Pyramid Trust where she worked with primary school children to increase their confidence and self esteem.  Before starting university she also volunteered for 2 months at an orphanage in Mexico working with children aged 2-7 years old.

Nicola Gibbs

“Working for Explore Learning is incredibly rewarding as I get to see children’s confidence, enjoyment and understanding of their work in English and Math’s improve before my eyes.  The centre is an exciting and energetic place to work, every day is different and I love that the children are given the opportunity to have fun whilst learning.“
