"Working with children has always been an enjoyable experience for me, each child brings something special and individual to their sessions and I love the variety of personalities I get to work with! It has been a fantastic opportunity becoming both a tutor and an Assistant Director in such an exciting environment."

Melissa graduated from Brunel University with a 2:1 BSc in Psychology. Melissa joined the Explore Learning team in Ruislip originally as a tutor when they opened in 2008 and became an Assistant Director in 2010. Having worked with children for over 8 years in a variety of roles including summer holiday clubs and student mentoring, she now feels ready to use those skills to help develop the centre with its continued focus on quality tuition.

“Working with children has been my biggest passion since I can remember. I have always enjoyed encouraging children to challenge themselves and I like to be there every step of their learning process! Explore Learning is a vibrant atmosphere in which to learn and it’s great to see the children showing enthusiasm for their education.”

Ellie graduated from the University of Reading with a 2:1 in English, Film and Theatre. Ellie worked as a Unit Leader for local Brownie and Guide Packs from the age of 15, and during the summer of 2009 she worked as a Camp Counsellor at an American Summer Camp, teaching swimming and wall climbing to children. After graduating she worked as a Teaching Assistant in a local infant school.
 

“I have always had a passion for working with young people. I feel it’s important to invest in the youth as they are the leaders of the future. The environment at Explore Learning is not only fun, its stimulating and nurturing. I enjoy being able to work with all types of children, from those who are struggling in school and need a little encouragement to those who are excelling in school and  welcome an extra challenge.”  

 

Kenique graduated from Brunel University with a First Class Honours in Biomedical Sciences. Whilst in her second year at university, Kenique worked as a Student Mentor providing advice, support and guidance to students who were finding it difficult to adjust to university life. In her final year Kenique worked as a Teaching Assistant with children aged 11-16. This role involved side by side tuition with underachieving pupils to raise their interest in learning as well as promoting further education to under represented ethnic minorities. Kenique was featured in the 2011/12 edition of Future Leader’s Magazine which profiles 100 of the UK most outstanding black graduates.
