Megan Brand

Assistant Director - Walton On Thames, South-West London

"I love the fact that Explore Learning really encourages children to enjoy their learning. I am passionate about building confidence in children and encouraging them to reach their full potential. It is wonderful to see members walk out of our centre; lizard cards in hand, smiling and feeling confident about what they have achieved. I strongly believe that Explore Learning helps equip children with the skills needed to succeed in both school and everyday life."

Megan graduated from the University of Exeter with a 2:1 in Psychology. After graduating she spent some time in the Territorial Army and attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. In the summer of 2010, Megan combined her passion for the outdoors and enthusiasm for working with children by spending four months on a children’s activity holiday camp in France.

Clare Hayward

Assistant Director - Walton On Thames, South-West London

“I have always enjoyed working with children and aiding them in their learning development. The best part is seeing their enthusiasm and joy when they achieve their goals, whether its for a sporting activity, school production or academic achievement.”

Clare Hayward graduated from the University of Southampton with a 2:1 in English Literature and Spanish. Clare has geared her studies and extra-curricular activities towards a rewarding career in children's educational development. Whilst at college Clare took part in the Community Sports Leader's Award, a national programme encouraging A-Level students to create sporting sessions for young children in their local area. Part of Clare's degree programme encompassed two academic years abroad in Mendoza, Argentina, where she worked for Intercultural Language Institute. She taught English as a foreign language to a mixed variety of students, but it was the younger ones that captivated her the most. At university Clare also participated in various mentoring and tutoring activities such as a GCSE language exchange programme with Woolstone School in Southampton, and with fellow Southampton University students from lower academic years. Most recently Clare volunteered with the Shakespeare Schools Festival Company working with children performing abridged Shakespeare plays at the Basingstoke Festival Theatre.
