Our Cardiff Thornhill Tuition Centre
With a unique and personalised approach to learning, our tuition centre in Cardiff Thornhill provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for your child to develop their maths and English skills. We teach the National Curriculum in an interactive and immersive way, getting to know your child on an individual level to tailor the curriculum to your child’s individual learning style.
Our tutors in Cardiff Thornhill work at the pace of your child, allowing them to uncover areas of strengths and areas of development, setting out challenges along the way to strengthen and develop their skills and knowledge. Asking for help and understanding their concentration are just some of the classroom skills we develop while expanding their knowledge and igniting a love for learning that they will take with them into the classroom and carry throughout their schooling life.

Situated inside Thornhill Sainsbury’s in the North of Cardiff, we are easily accessible by bus or train and free parking is provided in the Sainsbury’s car park. We offer a free taster session as a chance to get to know your child and family. This is a chance to discuss your child’s academic requirements in-depth, to meet the tutor team and for you to see the Sainsbury’s maths and English tuition centre in action.

My son undertook the 11+ online sessions and not only did he pass the highly competitive and selective grammar school exam in our region, but he was on top of those that passed! The course was well structed and needless to say prepared him well for the exam. In addition to the weekly tuition, there was also unlimited online resources for practice and tests. This all helped his speed and accuracy. I strongly recommend this course if you want to get into a grammar school.

FAQs
Is your curriculum the same as my child is doing in school?
Our curriculum is mapped to the National Curriculum for England, Wales and the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland so you can be confident that the skills your child is learning at with us match those they will be taught in school. However, when your child will learn skills will be different. At Explore Learning, every child works at a pace and level that is right for them, rather than that followed by their class at school.
What support do you offer children with SEN?
Our individual approach to learning has proven to be successful for children with a wide variety of needs including autism, dyslexia, ADHD and many more. We recognise every child is unique and will approach learning differently. During your first visit we will work with you to identify the way your child learns best and advise whether our programme will be the right fit for them.
Are Explore tutors qualified teachers?
We pride ourselves on having professional tutors who are employed and trained by us. They are experts in coaching; this is a different skill set to being a qualified teacher. Our smart learning tool ensures that no lesson planning or marking is required allowing our tutors to focus on explaining tricky concepts whilst keeping children motivated and on track with their learning.
Do you offer homework help?
We don't offer homework support in your child's weekly session, rather your child will be working on a specially designed curriculum to fill in gaps and develop skills in their maths and English understanding. This will in turn support children with their home learning.
Do you set homework?
We don't set homework but we do provide unlimited access to our learning resources so that your child can practise at home whenever they like.
