Even more opportunities for disadvantaged students

Explore Learning has launched the Big Dream Programme with the ambition to support 500 children through part or fully subsidised memberships in the next 2 years.

“Since we launched our tuition business in 2001, we’ve set out to support as many children as possible with their education. Not only have we helped hundreds of thousands of young people to achieve their learning goals, we have coached them to develop a life-long love of learning. We want all children to dream bigger, have their individual needs met and discover the joy of learning. Our Big Dream Programme is about offering even more access for disadvantaged children to experience the benefits of Explore Learning tuition.” Bill Mills, CEO and Founder, Explore Learning.

Our charity partners

Explore Learning is proud to provide part and fully subsidised memberships through school and charity partnerships as part of the Big Dream Programme.

  • Schools partnerships, funded by trusts & donors. Explore Learning partners with donors and trusts to provide fully funded tuition for cohorts of school children. Many schools are in communities where access to tuition is financially out of reach, and eligibility for Pupil Premium is high. Working with Explore Learning is helping schools to close the gap in achievements for disadvantaged children.

  • Buttle UK Chances for Children. Many charities in the UK apply for Buttle funding, on behalf of families who are dealing with multiple social issues and are living in financial hardship. Explore Learning have teamed up with the Buttle Chances for Children, meaning that money they grant to families in crisis can be used for Explore Learning tuition, at a reduced cost.

  • Refugee Education UK. Explore Learning are working with Refugee Education UK to offer a year-long placement for up to 100 refugee children aged 4-16 who need support in their education.

Dreaming Bigger with Buttle UK Chances for Children

We’re really excited to have teamed up with Buttle UK’s Chances for Children Grant. Buttle UK was set up in 1953 and has been helping children and young people in need ever since. They give children in crisis a chance for change. Their grants are designed to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people, as well as their capacity to engage in education. Last year Buttle provided over £3 million in Chances for Children Grants. They receive grant applications from a large network of charities, social services and health centres who deliver the items and activities for children and young people in need.

Explore Learning and Buttle have worked to create a process of funding, enrolling and delivering our tuition as simple and effective as possible. We are offering tuition both online and in-centre so we can help many more children to reach their goals. The first children have joined through this scheme in the last few weeks and we are looking forward to supporting many more in the future.

“Explore Learning represents a really exciting partnership model, one where the private sector can help by reducing their prices for vulnerable children, young people and their families, whilst Buttle UK uses its expertise and systems to ensure that this offer is reaching those that can benefit from it most. Together we can help to level the playing field. We are very much looking forward to working with Explore Learning.” Joseph Howes, CEO Buttle UK
