FAQs
What does a free workshop include?
As part of our partnership with The Summer Reading Challenge ‘Read to the Beat’ our expert tutors will deliver an engaging, 1 hour song-writing workshop that puts the joy into learning. The workshop is designed to be accessible to children aged 5-11, and can be tailored by our experts to all children's needs. Our team will arrive 15 minutes before the start of the workshop to set up. We will provide children with workshop booklets, and they will receive a special bookmark and activity booklet to take home showing they have completed the adventure.
How can Explore Learning offer their services for free?
We offer free workshops to libraries, community groups and schools as part of our mission to inspire a generation of fearless learners. Our main revenue stream comes from our tuition service paid for by parents. These workshops allow us to offer educational support to children of all backgrounds, and there are no hidden costs. Workshops help us to raise awareness within the community of our after-school tuition programme, and families can get information and advice from our expert tutors on the day about our other services if they wish to do so.
Are Explore Learning representatives DBS checked and Safeguarding trained?
Yes. All our staff hold enhanced DBS and receive annual safeguarding training.
Do you provide resources for Libraries to support organising and promoting the workshop?
Your local Explore Learning team will work with you to organise and promote the workshop. We will provide pre-made physical and digital materials e.g posters, tickets and social media assets, that can be used to help promote at a local level.
The team will work with you to understand the best ways to promote the offer to families and children in your area, and may use platforms such as Eventbrite or social media to support bookings.
We kindly ask that if you are able to please mention the workshop to members in your community. We know that this supports our team and encourages higher levels of attendance.
Do Library staff have to run these workshops?
No, the workshops will be ran by your local Explore Learning team. We do ask that Libraries can work alongside our team in the lead up to the event to spread the word, using the materials we provide, or advertising through their own channels such as newsletters, speaking to their community etc.
What space is required in the library to run these workshops?
Your local Explore learning team will work with you to understand your libraries available space, and can work to limit the number of spaces if needed to meet health and safety requirements. Small group working areas with tables and chairs are ideal to allow children and their parents to get the most out of the workshop.
