Targeted exam preparation

It's common in maths to focus on one topic area at a time but in an exam you need to be ready to tackle many.

At Explore Learning our GCSE students can practise specific areas but they will also learn how to jump from topic to topic, mimicking the style of exams.

This regular exposure to multiple topics is vital for building exam confidence, revision of skills and provides students with the best chance of success.

Unbeatable support for parents

We understand how difficult it can be to find out information about how your child is performing at GCSE.

As part of your membership at Explore Learning you will be invited to a 30 minute progress meeting every 6-8 weeks with one of our managers.

We will provide you with a detailed report of how your child is progressing through the GCSE curriculum, including identifying areas for practise.

We will discuss how your child is coping with the challenges of the upcoming exams, their attitude towards learning and revision techniques that you can try at home.

FAQs

When should I start GCSE maths tuition?

It's never too early to start thinking about tuition, particularly if there are aspects of a subject that you are finding tricky. Our GCSE programme supports teens from year 9 upwards with specialist resources and guidance for their exam board. Prior to making GCSE choices, we support students through our tailored maths and English programmes.

Do you offer homework support?

Yes. Your teen can request whatever support they need during their 1:1 session with their tutor. At this stage GCSE homework is often focused on revision techniques and strategies which our tutors have plenty of experience supporting.

Are Explore GCSE maths tutors qualified teachers?

We pride ourselves on having professional tutors who are employed and trained by us. This is a different skill set to being a qualified teacher. Many of our GCSE tutors are from top UK universities and passionate mathematicians. They are fantastic role models who can explain things in a relatable way keeping your teen motivated and on track with their learning.

How online lessons work?

Our tutors will work with your teen via live video call. The tutor and student can access our learning resources at the same time, see what each other are doing and work through topics together. Tutors can see when students are starting to find something tricky and directly support to build student confidence, knowledge and skills.

How can I revise for my GCSE maths exam?

You're not alone if you're finding revision difficult. Our tutors will share tried and tested revision techniques with you. Work with your tutor to plan a schedule of topics and they can hold you accountable in your session together each week.
