Hosted by The Tutors’ Association, the awards celebrate innovation, impact, and excellence in tuition. This triple recognition is a powerful reflection of Explore Learning’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, inclusive education that empowers children and supports families across the UK. Representing Explore Learning at the ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London were Regional Manager Benjy Smokler and Tuition Centre Manager Sophie Thorius.
Our nomination in the Educational Resources for Tuition category highlights the outstanding impact of our digital learning platform, Compass. Designed by a team of over 50 educators and supported by experts in AI and pedagogy, Compass provides 45,000+ expertly crafted questions across maths and English for learners aged 4–16.
It adapts in real time to each child’s learning needs, using machine learning to place them at the right level and support them through scaffolded interventions, mastery-based progression, and spaced repetition, all key to deep, lasting learning. On average, children using Compass for just two hours per week achieve 19 months’ academic progress in a year, and 93% of our GCSE students achieved a grade 4 or above, compared to the national average of 60%.
Our inclusion in both People’s Choice categories, Tuition Business and Tuition Partner, is especially meaningful, as these awards are voted for by the families, tutors, and teachers we work with every day.
In 2024, Explore Learning supported over 51,000 children, delivered 1.9 million tuition sessions, and provided 5,500 fully funded scholarships for children on free school meals.
