What is the Torbay Consortium?

Three grammar schools and one bi-lateral school in Torbay form the Torbay Consortium. All schools in the consortium use the same test, which means that children applying to any of these schools only need to take the 11 Plus test once.

How to register for a place in the Torbay Consortium?

Each school in the Torbay Consortium is responsible for their own admissions into Year 7. You must register for the 11 Plus entrance exam directly with the school via their website. You will also need to submit a Common Application Form to your local council and list your preferred schools.

The Torbay Consortium assessment

The 11 Plus exam for the Torbay Consortium is provided by the GL exam board and will cover:

• Mathematics

• English

The exam consists of two multiple choice papers, each lasting approximately 60 minutes. There is an English paper and a Mathematics paper.
