To help keep education going through this time, Charlotte Gater our Head of Curriculum has collated her 10 favourite free homeschooling resources for you to use with your child.
Homeschooling Lessons

Maddie Moate
Maddie Moate brings science to life every weekday at 11am. Each week has a different theme including Brilliant Bodies, Dino Week and Mission Space.

BBC Bitesize lessons
Covering wide-ranging topics from ‘Creating Lists in Sentences’ to ‘How to be a Good Friend’. Everything is helpfully broken into year groups and lots of experts are involved. I can’t wait for the David Attenborough geography lessons. You can also catch BBC Bitesize Daily on BBC iPlayer every day.

Mid Morning Maths with Bobby Seagull
Mid Morning Maths with celebrity maths tutor Bobby Seagull ran for 8 weeks through the Explore Learning Facebook page during our first lockdown. Every Monday (ages 4-7), Wednesday (ages 7-11) and Friday (ages 11-14) at 10am a new topic was covered. You can now find all of Bobby’s lessons right here on our website, with a matching worksheet to accompany each one.

Reading Eggs App
Reading Eggs are offering 1 months’ free access to their reading app. Children learn to read through games, quizzes, rewards and songs.

Free Phonics play
Phonics play is completely free whilst schools are closed.

YouTube – Jen Nebquer Phonics
YouTube has some great teaching videos. For those starting out learning phonics try the Jen Nebauer Jolly Phonics songs.

Maths scheme – White Rose Maths
White Rose Maths, a fantastic maths scheme used in many schools, have created lessons including videos and accompanying activities. The lessons are split into different year groups so you can be confident your child is looking at material they would be covering in school.
