‘How to follow your dreams’ by Starr
August 14, 2020
It’s never too early to begin to follow your dreams. Have you ever had a brilliant idea but you’re not sure how to get started or what to do next?
Starr, Explore member at our West Bridgford centre and clothing designer, speaks to us about her aspirations and tell us how you can achieve your goals, whatever they may be!
Tell us a bit about yourself Starr…
I’m Starr, I have been doing gymnastics since I was 2 years old. I like to write, play and go horse riding. I love to write cards to give to my family and I also have a company called Made By STARR.
Can you describe ‘Made by Starr’ for us?
Made By STARR is clothing designed for kids made by a kid (Me). I would say my brand is fun, comfy and stylish.
How old were you when you had the idea for ‘Made by Starr’?
I was 5 years old.
How would you say the idea started?
My mummy asked me if I wanted to make crop tops because I loved them and because I am a gymnast and that’s what I like to wear.
Was reaching your goal difficult?
No, any kid can start a business if they have the right help and attitude.
What attitude helped you to achieve everything you wanted to?
Parents, myself, a healthy diet, focus, imagination and fun.
What is a big dream of yours?
Helping the homeless people, buying a big house, being able to explore the deep, deep sea, to live in Africa, to be a great gymnast like my cousin.
So, what advice would you give other children who have ambitious ideas but don’t know what to do next?
Write your ideas down, draw pictures, speak to your parents or family, be brave and have fun.
Lastly, what do you love the most about Explore Learning?
Seeing all the tutors.
